Guys, is there any plans to add a Electric Power T34 Racing class on 2009? If so I would be happy to sign up and also do some power systems testing.

Thanks,

I know that John Lockwood mentioned it at the last race. It sounded like it was up to the guys who wanted to start the class to come up with a spec and enough entries (4-5) to make up the class.

You could try to email Kevin Norred or James Gale and see if there's been any more progress.

Good Luck,

Chris

Hi,

There has been a couple concerns with the whole thing and nothing has been decided either way.  Some of the concerns are:

1) Fire - With Impact of airplanes which in racing is huge, batteries would and could short out causing fire in the fields.  AMA would require us to have equipement to be setup for this.  With all this is Cost issues.

2) Batteries - The turn around sometimes for a heat is less than a hour and not everyone carries several packs of batteries with them.   We cant wait for batteries to be charged.

3) Entries....Need at least 5 to run a class.

Just some concerns.  The CD's have final say.
